When God decides to purify His people, He will do so, and nothing will stand in his way.

Jesus is fulfilling Isaiah 2-4 today through you and I, as the City on a Hill which participates in God’s mission to the world.
What if you had a patch of ground and a bunch of plants which, no matter what you did, refused to produce a good crop? How much work would you keep putting into it? At what point would you say, “I’ve done enough, and I need to walk away now?”
God is absolutely devoted to Himself and His glory and His purposes, and therefore He is devoted to keeping His promises to the covenant people upon whom He has set His love.
When God saves someone, He doesn’t move on to the next thing and let them be as they were. He gives them work to do.
Imagine I read a news report to you this morning that said this: “After years of sleep, a major global superpower, far to the east, awakens to expand its empire…
Tremble at God’s awesomeness and power, what He is capable of, and what He has done. And you will find that the more you fear God, the less fear you will have left over for people’s thoughts or opinions of you.
Today’s passage invites us to enjoy and celebrate the loving reign of King Jesus.
To whom will you flee for help? There is no other safe hiding place besides Christ.
In a way that we might not fully understand, all of our choices—even our sinful choices—happen within the sovereign plan of God. While this all might seem like a contradiction to us, apparently it’s not a contradiction to God.
This is our hope. Our hope is not in politics. Our hope is not in social programs. Our hope is in Jesus returning to flood the earth with the knowledge of God.
