What is FAITH Night?
FAITH is an acronym for “Families Anchored In Truth & Hope.” Hebrews 6:19 tells us that Jesus is a sure and steadfast anchor for our souls, and lives forever as our hope.
Faith night will be an evening of discipleship for children and families on Tuesday nights. God has given you an amazing responsibility to teach your children as they grow—we just want to be a small part of helping children and families stay grounded in hope, as a mid-week supplement.
We’re using teaching material from Truth78, a solid, trusted source that we’ve been using in our children’s Sunday School for years.
Here’s a timeline sketch of what a typical Tuesday evening would look like:
- 6:15 to 6:30: Arrive/recite memorized verses to leaders
- 6:30 to 6:45: Prayer & singing
- 6:45 to 7:30: Lesson time in age groups
- 7:30 to 7:45: Discuss what we’ve been learning in larger groups. Parents, if you don’t join us for the whole evening, we’d love for you to at least join us for this last part! We think there would be so much value in families being together while their children share what they’ve been learning about God. Feel free to contribute during this time as well! We hope to wrap up our evenings by 7:45.
Who is this for?
Faith night is tailored towards children from age 2 to 12. Any children under 5 will need an adult present in the building, and we will have people here to help even your very little ones learn about Jesus.
Parents, as implied earlier, we also invite you to join! There’s no pressure here. If you’re unable to join us, still feel free to drop off your children if they’re above 5 years old. If you can only join us sometimes, that’s awesome. We’d love to see you there whenever it works. We desire for any parent who attends to feel free to make a meaningful contribution to the evening, and their child’s growth. Don’t feel any pressure, but also don’t feel like you need to sit in the background!
Where and when?
Faith nights will happen at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 6:30pm. The only difference in time, is that we`ll be wrapping up earlier, aiming to end at around 7:45. We’ll start the year on Tuesday, September 9.
Besides all this, you should know that we’re still planning to do Grand Prix in the spring. Alongside that, we’re planning some fun event nights each semester – whether games, dress up, life skill teaching, etc. stay posted for details.
A lot of thought went into this decision, and we pray that FAITH nights will be a blessing to many this year. We earnestly desire to grow strong relationships with families in Nipawin, and provide a meaningful context for your children to learn God’s Word.
